Costa Almeria

Costa Almeria, neighbouring Costa Calida and Andalusia’s most easterly province, is the driest region in Spain. A largely unspoilt coastline, with expanses of rocky desert inland, the area boasts around 320 days of sunshine per year, and temperatures of close to 40 degrees in the height of summer. Almeria is yet to be developed on the same scale as other popular areas of Spain and despite the emergence of a small number of modern and bustling tourist centres, in towns such as Roquetas de Mar and Mojacar, the relaxed rugged coastline, with unspoilt beaches and sun-baked Wild West-style desert scenery remains popular for those wishing to escape the hustle and commercialisation of other areas.
