The Costa Blanca’s popularity with holidaymakers is well documented and, with a recent designation by the World Health Organisation as one of the world’s healthiest places to live, thanks to its fantastic climate and accessible recreation, this popularity shows no sign of abating. True, the coast suffers in some areas from over-development, but as well as the beaches, many of which have been awarded the EU Blue Flag for cleanliness, there’s a wealth of markets, museums and theme parks - some even - harassed parents breathe a sigh of relief - with an educational bent.
